It’s amazing that times never change I still get excited when I see a gift certificate for coffee or for something I normally wouldn't buy on my own.

My parents also encourage me to use some of the money for an offering at Sunday School or Summer Camp. ...to teach me how a little change could cause some World change...

This week I've been doing a little fasting from the Americano I usually get at Starbucks to save the money for something even more special... For the next couple of Sundays we will be collecting “lunch money” to help refill the shelves at the local food pantry and to buy a mosquito net to save a life in Africa. For $10 we can help to save a life…how awesome is that!

It's amazing how a little change saved from some coffee or a lunch can potentially save a life or give someone a meal in our community.

Recently, I've been reading a book by Jim Wallis entitled Rediscovering Values. In one part of the book he writes “Change begins when some people make different choices. Change grows when people make different choices together. And when the critical mass of those who are making different choices gets big enough, change becomes a social movement. It is those movements that change history more than anything else.” (228)

I hope you'll join me by becoming a world changer through the a little bit of change we save from lunch or a Latte... It was also an awesome experience to receive some change from one of our younger World changers at VUMC from his recycling project (thanks Mason)! If you have a great story about how you saved change for a change email take a moment to share it with us...
